Together we make learning work
In the Utrecht region, employers and educational institutions work together to build a future-proof labour market. We strengthen the knowledge and skills needed for the energy transition and the circular economy. We do this through
- targeted reskilling and upskilling at MBO, HBO and university level
- alternative forms of learning developed in co-creation, and
- personalised training and education advice.
Tailor-made training with funding support
Is your organisation working on the energy transition, the circular economy, or related sectors in the Utrecht region? If so, you can benefit from funding from the National Growth Fund LLO-Catalyst scheme until 2028. There is funding available for ten projects aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of your employees. Interested? Get in touch with our account managers to explore the possibilities.

This is us
For the first time in the Netherlands, vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences, and research universities are joining forces to strengthen the knowledge and skills of employees. In our consortium, education and industry work closely together: ROC Midden Nederland, Hogeschool Utrecht, Utrecht University, Stedin, Bloemendal Bouw, Van Dorp Installatietechniek, ROM Utrecht Region, and the Utrecht Regional Technology Council.
Projects have already been launched at three employers.
- Bloemendal Bouw: developing the skills of career switchers and employees.
- Stedin: implementing challenge based learning within the organisation.
- Van Dorp Installatietechniek: developing employees’ skills in ways that align with the company’s learning principles.
Lifelong learning ecosystem

The outcomes of these projects are shared on this website and twice a year during mini-conferences.
All organisations are welcome to benefit from our good practices, for example in sectors such as energy and resources, healthcare, ICT, and education. In this way, we are building a strong ecosystem for lifelong learning in the Utrecht region. Together with initiatives from the Utrecht Talent Alliance, a strong ecosystem for lifelong development is being created in the Utrecht region.
